My name is Samantha (Sami) the βRoad Runnerβ Colling and I am a 10 year old Girl BMX racer. I started racing Novice Class in late 2013 after watching my brother race BMX at KBMX. This year I joined the C-Yaa BMX Grass Roots Racing team. I am very excited to be racing for my new team and meeting other C-Yaa riders. With a new team comes a new bike and it was really cool helping make decisions on the design π My favourite thing about BMX is the racing. However, the best part of BMX is making new friends and having fun with old friends. My Home Tracks are Kingston BMX (KBMX) and Gananoque BMX, but I have raced all over Ontario, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. One of my goals is to travel more and visit new tracks. Britney Hovencamp and Cole Zufelt are riders I really admire because they never give up, are helpful and always try to improve. Goals for 2018 - Prove myself and earn a spot on the C-Yaa National Team - Compete in the Ontario Provincial Series and defend my #1 Plate - Achieve #1 position in District Ranking and receive another top 10 in District Ranking jacket from BMX Canada - Finally, I want to start racing in the US Nationals and compete at the US National Grands in Nov of 2018 2017 Achievements - Participated in the Kingston Fitness Fights Kids Cancer fundraiser and raised $220.85 towards our team total of 1,489.15 - BMX Canada, Canadian Nationals β CNAG #4 for 10 year old Girls - BMX Canada, Ontario Provincial Series β Finished 1st place for 10 year old Girls - Successfully qualified for 52 main events, with 10 1st place finishes 2016 Achievements - BMX Canada, Canadian Nationals β CNAG #3 for 9 year old Girls - BMX Canada, Ontario Provincial Series β Finished 2nd place for 9 year old Girls - BMX Canada Award top 10 rider in the District rankings (3rd) - Received Champion award for KBMX and Gan BMX Iron Man Series - Successfully qualified for 60 main events, with 13 1st place finishes 2015 Achievements - BMX Canada, Canadian Nationals β CNAG #3 for 8 year old Girls - BMX Canada, Ontario Provincial Series β Finished 2nd place for 8 year old Girls - BMX Canada Award top 10 rider in the District rankings (4th) - Successfully qualified for 70 main events, with 19 1st place finishes - Improved District Ranking (2015 = 28, 2016 = 4) 2014 Achievements - BMX Canada, Canadian Nationals β CNAG #5 for 7 year old Girls - BMX Canada, Ontario Provincial Series β Finished 9th place for 7 year old Girls - Received Most Improved Rider Award by my peers from KBMX - 6 District 1st place wins - Improved District Ranking (2013 = 277, 2014 = 38) Equipment - Chase Frame - Answer Carbon Forks - Fly Bars - Promax Cranks - Box components (Wheels, Hubs, Head, Brakes) - VEE Tires - ODI Grips I would like to thank the following sponsors for their support and to Jamie McQuaig for building my bike. - Colling Web Design - Answer BMX - ODI - HRP Designs - VEE Tire Co.
