2024 - Learn to Ride Program

 
Looking to try the Olympic Sport of BMX?! Join our Learn to Ride program to learn the basics to get you in the race!  
 
This program is geared to riders of any age,  who are strong at pedaling a two-wheeled bicycle and want to take it to the next level and learn to race BMX at the Kingston BMX track @ Woodbine Park.
 
Clinic night will be Mondays from 530-7 PM - it is one night only and then you can move into the race/practice nights
 
Spots will fill up fast, so reserve your spot today!
 
Sessions will be instructed by our Certified BMX Canada Coaches. They will cover the fundamentals of BMX racing including how to get around the track safely, all obstacles of the track including the starting gate, rules of racing, proper safety equipment and bike sizing.
 
CANADA BMX LICENSE:
Every rider practicing or competing on any sanctioned BMX Canada track must obtain a membership prior to riding on the track.
This is provided as part of the Learn to Ride Program and you do not need to obtain this yourself.
Once you have a Canada BMX license, you will receive 12-months of PULL Magazine and can participate in the sport at any Sanctioned BMX track in Canada or the USA (additional costs may apply)
 
LEARN TO RIDE PROGRAM -
FOR ALL AGES WHO ARE RIDING A PEDAL BIKE!!
 
LEARN TO RIDE FEE $85.00 and includes:
• Mandatory BMX Canada license
• Rental bike, YOU NEED TO BRING A BIKE HELMET
• 1.5 hr coached session to learn the track, the techniqueS and how to race
AND...YOUR FIRST RACE IS FREE!
 
WHAT THE RIDER NEEDS:
· long sleeve shirt and pants
· helmet - a bike helmet is fine for Learn to Ride
· closed toe shoes
· **Gloves are recommended
 
WHAT COMES AFTER LEARN TO RIDE:
Following the completion of this program, riders can then join in with our regular weekly racing as well as the weekly Open practices.
