There will be lots of FUN things happening at Inter-River Bike Park on the weekend of June 6-7th.

NSBMX invites the community to participate in Olympic Day FREE Race on June 6th, Saturday. And MEC will be hosting MEC Bikefest Northshore 2015 on June 6-7th, Sat & Sun!

NSBMX will be celebrating our beloved sport of BMX, the newest Olympic cycling discipline!! This event is open to members and to anyone/any age interested in trying out BMX. Our goal is to promote the Olympic sport of BMX racing while encouraging new participants to give BMX a try!

BMX is the newest Olympic cycling discipline and made its debut at Beijing 2008. It had debuted at the Pan American Games one year earlier in Rio de Janeiro. Riders compete on short tracks that include jumps, bumps and tight, banked corners. Eight riders line up side-by-side at the start gate at the top of a steep ramp. When the gate drops, they accelerate down the ramp onto the track, and race shoulder-to-shoulder to the finish. The overall length of a BMX track is between 300 and 400 metres, meaning each race takes about 40 seconds to complete.

After you race Olympic Day BMX Race, stay and join the festivities!! At MEC Bikefest, you can try  out gear, test ride a new bike, browse exhibitors' booths, find sweet deals at the MEC Bikeswap! There'll also be performers, entertainment, food vendors, beer garden and kids' activities.

Bring your bike, your family and friends and join the fun and get connected with your local cycling community!
