Stouffville BMX Ontario Trilllium Grant announcement - April 5, 2015
Stouffville BMX is pleased to announce that we are the proud recipient of an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant, awarded to us on March 30. The grant is a 3 year commitment with an awarded amount of $150,000. A leading grant-maker in Canada, the Ontario Trillium Foundation strengthens the capacity of not-for-profit sports and recreational organizations through investments in community-based initiatives.
Upon learning the exciting news of Stouffville BMX being selected as an OTF grant recipient, Brendan Arnold commented “This is an amazing achievement and I want to thank all of the partners for making this possible”
“The funds from the OTF grant will allow Stouffville BMX to complete priority upgrades to the newly built track and surrounding area, including paving the track’s start hill and corners, the purchase of a new starting gate, on-site storage and concessions building, and perimeter fencing. Additionally, the focus will be on developing community riding programs as well as racing opportunities at the track. The club will be affiliated with BMX Canada and will be a partner with the Ontario Cycling Association”.
Stouffville BMX is looking forward to a very exciting inaugural bmx season and are thankful to our partners for their ongoing support in making this venture a success: TRCA Bruce’s Mill, Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Joyride 150 Bikepark, and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
