Team Info

BMX Racing is often seen as a solitary pursuit with just one rider, one bike, and a track filled with obstacles.  But behind the individual glory of a main event win lies one of the most strategic and exciting aspects of the sport: The National Team Competition.

Whether you are a local bike shop looking to put your brand on the map or a major manufacturer aiming for industry dominance, the USA BMX Team Series turns individual performances into a collective battle for season-long supremacy

The USA BMX series is divided into two distinct heavy hitting categories, allowing teams to compete against peers of similar size and support levels.

  • Bike Shop Team - These teams represent the backbone of the sport, local shops and squads.
  • Factory Team -  This is the highest level of competition. These are rostered teams where a sponsor manufactures bicycle components or explicitly brands itself as a "Factory Team"They battle for prestige, major industry presence, and serious cash, but they play by stricter rules.  A Factory Team cannot roster Novice or Intermediate riders.

BMX Canada National Series team competition consists of two national team categories:

  • Trophy Team - any team consisting of non-rostered riders that calls itself a Trophy Team. This type of team competition is only for the trophy of the day.
  • Title Team - any rostered team that calls itself a Title Team.

Running a team isn't just about signing the fastest riders; it's a chess match played on dirt. Team Managers use a Team Dashboard to manage rosters and build "Team Sheets" for every National event.

Here is how the battle is won:

The Roster: You pick your squad. Factory and Bike Shop managers maintain a roster of riders who must wear the approved team jersey to compete.

The Sheet: For each race, you select up to 6 riders to place on your Team Sheet.

The Score: It’s quality over quantity. Only your best 4 scores count toward your total. If your rider wins a standard class like Cruiser or Boys Expert, that's 40 points. If they win a high-level class like Pro-Am or Girl Expert, that's 44 points.

Beyond the daily cash, teams are fighting for the National Title. Factory teams are ranked on their best 20 scores, while Bike Shop teams count their best 16, culminating in a double-point showdown at the Grand National.
