SX Open class opens big hill to Amateurs at Carolina Nationals

USA BMX has announced that the inaugural North American SX Series event will allow amateurs the opportunity to compete using the 8mm Elite hill. We will be offering a SX Open class both Friday and Saturday. This will be open to any rider with an expert classification who is at least 15 years of age.

The inaugural North American SX Series event will take place in Rock Hill, South Carolina at the beautiful Novant Health BMX complex. The weekend will also feature the USA Cycling Elite BMX National Championships and the UCI North American Continental Championships. All of these will take place on the 8 meter elite starting hill.

To allow the amateurs the opportunity to compete using the elite hill, USA BMX will be offering a SX Open class both Friday and Saturday.  The SX Open will have a $35 entry fee and will follow the same format as the pros, using the total points system for the qualifying rounds.

  • Both a Men and Women’s class will be available for eligible riders 15 & Over.
  • 5 riders will constitute a class
  • If there are less than 5 riders in the Women’s class, they will be moved to the men’s class (or have the option to withdraw). 

 Novant Health BMX will play host to the 2017 UCI BMX World Championships and is a facility that is sure to impress. Pre-registration is now open at usabmx.com.
