It's going to be 65° at Rad Canyon? Balderdash! Many people didn't take heed to the weatherman's warnings as Salt Lake City is usually well into the 90's during the nationals but mother nature pulled a fast one on us this year. Besides the mad dash to grab sweatshirts on Friday, the people were refreshed with the chilly temps. 

With this being the last Pro Series event before the World Championships we expected the pro turnout to be lighter than normal and that it was. Daylight's Elite Corben Sharrah would dominate the small field for his third and fourth wins. Full Tilt's Ashley Verhagen also would win both days narrowly edging out Remix's Rachael Mydock on day two. The Junior men class was won both days by Alpha's Cam Wood and we even had an all "Cameron" podium with Cam Bramer and Cam Mason on day two. Junior Women was the Tucson show on Friday with Daleny Vaughn going 1-3-1 for the win. Saturday saw Colorado's Ashley hayes step on top of the box. A Pro was dominated by Aussie Elite Jayce Cunning.

On the Amateur front, 10 year old Sophia Rodriguez was easily one of the most dominant racers of the weekend clocking 6 wins between class and mixed open. Also taking home 6 perfect laps was Bay Area's Gaige Gomolicke. Coming close with 5 wins was Answer factory's Karter Montellano.

Continuing to climb to the top of his class is none other than BMX Sharks' Cedric Cade. The Vegas kid won 13 Expert all three days and has his eyes set on a rematch with National #1 Amateur Ronnie Kim. We can't wait to see that go down. 

Avent/Bombshell's Wyatt Christensen looked excellent in his return to the national series by taking 2 wins in 7X and 2 wins in 7-8 Open.

Nathan Johanson made a statement in 46-50 Intermediate and looks to be about ready to throw his hat into the expert ranks.

Arizona's Jena Sagendorf battled for three wins in the 21-30 Expert Women's class and now sits at the top of NAG rankings.

Chayse Mrazek was the one to beat in 12 cruiser but none of his competitors could rise to the challange.

All in all it was a fabulous weekend at Rad Canyon BMX. The fresh asphalt on turns one and three held most riders on the course and Steve Wagner and his crew were awesome hosts to one of the most scenic stops on the USA BMX national circuit.
