Today USA BMX announced Lemoore, CA as the last stop of the 2018 USA BMX National Series and the addition of a UCI Pro Series race at Chula Vista BMX on Hall of Fame weekend.
USA BMX has secured the remaining open weekend on the National Series schedule for October 19-21 as it awarded Lemoore, CA and Lemoore BMX Raceway the Fall Nationals. “Our selection of Lemoore BMX Raceway is a testament to the BMX program Derek and Michele Weiser run. In a very short period of time, they have developed a great facility and awesome track, and we are thrilled to host the Fall Nationals at Lemoore BMX Raceway,” stated John David, USA BMX COO.
Additionally, USA BMX will host, for the first time ever, a UCI Pro Series event in conjunction with the Southwest DK Gold Cup Championship and USA BMX Hall of Fame weekend in Chula Vista, CA. All racing including the pro event will take place on the Chula Vista BMX track. Tyler Brown, Chula Vista BMX Track Operator, and 2018 UCI Masters World Champion adds, “Hosting a USA BMX/UCI Pro Series event at Chula Vista BMX is an honor. Much less the second points event for Olympic qualifying in the US is huge! This track is home to more Pros than any track in the country so it's going to be a battle no one wants to miss!”
USA BMX AA Pro and 2020 Olympic hopeful Justin Posey had this to say, "I'm thrilled that a pro race will be held on the USA BMX track at Chula Vista. The track is one of the best in the country and has a lot to offer for racers of all ages. It is exciting knowing it will be in conjunction with the hall of fame ceremony as there is so much prestige involved with this event. Not only will the pros get to put on a show for the hall of famers, but for the city of Chula Vista and the entire Southern California community. I'm happy to see Tyler and Kas Brown rewarded for all the time and effort they've put into this amazing track!"
