With the majority of tracks being forced to close during the COVID-19 pandemic, USA BMX / BMX Canada will be adjusting the required number of single point races required for riders to achieve their bonus points.

District Bonus Points:  Any rider who has or will compete in a single point race will now see each single point race count as two (2) local races. This will effectively cut the number of single point races members must run to four (4) in order to achieve their maximum number of bonus points (4)  for the purpose of State/Provincial and Gold Cup. For NAG and National, riders will be earning 20 points for each single point race, so only four (4) single point races would give a rider the maximum of 80 bonus points.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER

July 15 Last race date for single point races for State/Provincial Bonus Points.

August 15 Last race date for single point races for Gold Cup Bonus Points.

September 15 Last race date for 4 single point races for alternate ROC eligibility.

October 1 Last race date for single point races for NAG/NAT Bonus Points

District Points Earned At Nationals: Additionally, the number of local races required to receive your main event points (finish points) will be reduced to 10 single point races from the previous requirement of 20. Riders will transfer 10% of their main event points earned at nationals into their district standings for each single point race they compete in within the calendar year.

Alternate ROC Eligibility: Finally, in the IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER above, riders will notice that we’ve reduced the required number of single point races for alternate ROC (Race Of Champions) eligibility to 4 single point races from the previous requirement of 8.

The Sanction will continue to monitor the effects of the pandemic and modify rules to better serve the riders as we get USA BMX “back on track”.
