Final motos and sessions are now posted for tomorrow.

There are changes from the initial moto posting, so please double check the sheets and confirm your moto(s) for tomorrow.

A reminder that we are running three groups tomorrow. We've adjusted the start times of sessions #2 and #3 by 30 minutes to give the Novice session time to complete. Novice motos practice at 8:30am, racing at 9am, Intermediate motos practice at 10:30am, racing at 11:00am, Expert/Cruiser motos practice at noon, racing at 12:30pm.

I have split the moto sheet into three sessions. A number of riders ended up in classes that don't match their skill level, so you might be in a session you didn't expect.

As some of you know, we had a surprise visit by some bylaw officers two weeks ago during the race, but they were happy with our group sizes, contact tracing, sanitizers and mask/social distancing. Please keep up the good work and wear a mask if you aren't sitting at least six feet from other families. We ask that only one parent or guardian attend per family. This is very important to keep us under the 100 person gathering limit. We also ask that spectators spread out around the facility (there is lots of room) to maintain sufficient social distance, and that spectators wear masks while sitting trackside for additional safety. Please do not crowd together.

As always, no parent should enter the track itself, with the exception of a single parent helping balance bike riders if required, and a parent of a five or under rider who needs assistance at the gate. If you are entering the track for one of the previous reasons, please wear a mask. In the event of a crash, we will have masked corner workers who will assist the riders. Please allow us to bring your rider to you in the spectator area.

Please screen for the following before attending tomorrow. If any of the answers are positive, please do not attend. Let us know via email and we will refund your fee for the race.
Fever/Chills
Cough
Difficulty breathing/shortness of breath
Sore throat/difficulty swallowing
Runny nose (unrelated to seasonal allergies)
Loss of taste or smell
Not feeling well, headache, tiredness and muscle aches
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain

In the last 14 days, have you had close physical contact with a person who:
was sick with a respiratory illness (had a new or worsening cough, fever or difficulty breathing)?
has returned from travel outside of Canada in the last 14 days?
was a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19?

In the last 14 days, have you travelled outside of Canada?

To reduce crowding after the race, we will not distribute our normal awards after the race. We will keep track of who is owed a medal and distribute them later in the season. If this is your first ever BMX race, we will have a new rider trophy for you that you can collect on your way out. If this is your first time racing, please let one of our volunteers know and we will talk you through the race day procedures. I know everyone looks forward to hitting up the concession stand, but we won't be operating it tomorrow to keep our volunteer count lower. Please make sure you bring lots of water and any snacks you might need, along with your folding chair and sunscreen.

As you know, the club is run entirely by volunteers. We have recruited volunteers (thanks to our great volunteers and our volunteer drill sergeant Sofia Damm) for tomorrow, but we are always looking for fresh recruits. Let us know at [email protected] if you are interested in helping out.

We are looking forward to another great race tomorrow. We want everyone to have fun, while also keeping the event safe and COVID free. Let's all do our part!
