US OTC announces additional Schedule for 2014
USA Cycling and the U.S. Olympic Training Center have also just announced their additional BMX Programs for 2014: • SX Open Sessions • BMX Combine Testing • Devo Plus • Evo Summer Residency Program • Evo/Elite fulltime Offsite Residency Program BMX Open Sessions In order to create additional opportunity for US BMX athletes, USA Cycling will be offering several open training sessions at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center. Riders will need to register and complete payment at BMX Combine testing USA Cycling has created a number of opportunities for any USA rider* born in 1999 or prior, to attend Combine style testing which will be held on the Beijing Replica BMX Track. USA Cycling coaches will collect track data along with Ergometer-based power testing, and share all data with each athlete. Riders will be able to compare themselves with US national program athletes, and potentially earn a spot at a future USA Cycling training camp. While participation in Combine testing will not guarantee someone selection to a future camp, it offers all athletes an opportunity to display their skill, gain exposure to SX style tracks, and further everyone’s development. It also increases awareness and educates athletes on USA Cycling and it’s development pathway. • January 17-19 • February 14-16 • March 7-9 • April 11-13 USA Cycling will be creating an online registration process, including electronic waivers for these events. All athletes must possess a USA Cycling racing license and racing for the United States in UCI competition. Riders under 18 will need to print all waiver forms and have a wet signature from a parent or legal guardian. This is an off-complex program, so riders are responsible for providing their own accommodations. Only Olympic Training Center track access is allowed, with the exception of the dining hall if an athlete has purchased a meal • $35 each day or $100 for 3 days • Includes all rider analysis & report *Riders must be US Citizens and compete for the USA. USA Cycling is eager to maximize every rider's opportunity for development and progression with Supercross, and advancement to the Evolution program by introducing the Devo Plus program. USA Cycling will open further opportunities to standout Junior Development athletes who previously would've been age-ineligible to continue at this level, and have not yet met the Evolution program standard. Criteria will include having attended at least 1 Junior Development camp, and having met the performance criteria set by USA Cycling. We will have a maximum of 4 positions available for Devo+ riders at each Devo camp. Devo + riders will be given more in-depth training and guidance to help get them ready for the Evo Program. • March 30th • May 31st to June 7th • August 8th • October 19th • Riders may be eligible for the Ed Burke Grant • Riders interested in this Program should contact: [email protected] Evo Summer Residency USA Cycling was able to secure three and half months of Onsite residency for 10 of its top Evolution riders from May 19th through August 31st .
