While most people won't stop talking about the Seahawk's Sherman - and his appearance on the latest front cover of Sports Illustrated, there's a cool little treat inside for BMXers - with a short mention of USA BMX's National No.1 Amateur in the traditional FACES in the CROWD section - which gives a nod every month to top amateur athletes around the country. As the newly crowned No.1 Am, Maliek was an obvious choice.  
Faces in the Crowd has been published every week in Sports Illustrated since 1956. The Jan. 27 issue should begin arriving on newsstands and in subscribers' mailboxes on Wednesday (Jan. 22), and this week's Faces column should posted online by the next Monday evening (Jan. 27) at http://si.com/faces.
