Ahead of the opening round of the 2026 USA BMX Pro Series, USA BMX has announced an update to its eligibility rules for riders entering the Men Pro and Women Pro classes.

Effective immediately, the eligible birth year for riders to compete in the Men Pro and Women Pro divisions has been adjusted to 2008 or earlier.

This change creates a clearer pathway for riders who are coming off strong performances in the 17–20 Amateur classes, giving them the opportunity to step up to the professional ranks the following season.

The goal of the adjustment is to continue strengthening the professional field while providing rising amateur talent with the chance to challenge themselves on the sport’s biggest stage—the USA BMX National Series.

By allowing more top amateur riders to make the jump earlier in their careers, USA BMX hopes to further grow both the Men Pro and Women Pro divisions while maintaining a strong development pipeline from amateur competition to the professional level.

The update takes effect immediately and will apply to all upcoming events in the 2026 season.
