The Golden State Nationals mark stop no.13 of the 2026 USA BMX National Series. The three-day BMX competition will be held at Metro BMX 3805 Chester Ave in Bakersfield. Races begin at 1 p.m. Friday, 9:30 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.
“Metro BMX is leveling up in a big way as it gears up for the USA BMX Nationals,” said April Simpson, who serves as co-track operator of Metro BMX alongside her husband Eric Simpson. “Our facility has undergone major upgrades across the board, creating a premier racing environment for both athletes and spectators. Track preparation has been dialed in under the direction of two-time world champion Jordan Miranda delivering a fast, technical and elite-level surface ready for top-tier competition.”
The USA BMX National Series stands as one of the sport’s most elite competitive circuits, uniting BMX riders from across the country in pursuit of national rankings and championship points. Each season, athletes of all ages and skill levels travel to host cities nationwide, with every event playing a crucial role in their journey toward earning a national title.
The experience doesn’t stop at the track – Metro BMX now features state-of-the-art lighting that brings the facility to life under the lights, paired with Scorz timing for instant, accurate race results. Off the track, fans can enjoy new menu items and expanded concessions alongside upgraded grass areas for a comfortable place for families, friends and teammates to relax.
“We’re excited for the City of Bakersfield to once again host the USA BMX Golden State Nationals,” said Matt Billingsley, sales manager at Visit Bakersfield. “We’re proud to showcase the continued upgrades and investment in the track, which has helped elevate it into one of the premier racing facilities in the country. Bakersfield has a long history of drawing some of the largest moto counts and the fiercest competition in BMX, and we’re looking forward to welcoming athletes and fans for another outstanding event.”

About USA BMX
Established as the American Bicycle Association in 1977 and headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, ABA is the nation’s largest cycling organization with more than 70,000 members with combined racing and freestyle events at more than 300 sanctioned BMX tracks across the United States and Canada. ABA empowers and elevates the early stages of bicycle development by creating opportunities through facility development, programs, and national events. As a result, ABA has developed a structured blueprint. A cyclist can progress from humble beginnings on a balance bike to becoming a BMX Olympian by establishing these roots.
Through STEAM, scholarships, freestyle amateur events, the national series, the Olympics and new facilities built across the United States, these four pillars under the USA BMX organization will impact young riders and families: USA BMX Foundation, USA BMX Freestyle, USA BMX Racing and ABA Ethos.
