PRESS RELEASE

USA BMX Fall Nationals Bring Championship-Caliber Racing to Phoenix

With the season winding down, the nation’s top BMX racers will descend on Black Mountain BMX Oct. 16-18 to battle for crucial championship points at Stop No. 27 of the USA BMX National Series and Stop No. 8 of the USA BMX Pro Series.

TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 12, 2026)—With championship points on the line and the season nearing its finish, Phoenix will become a proving ground for the nation’s top BMX racers Oct. 16-19 at the 2026 USA BMX Fall Nationals at Black Mountain BMX. The event combines a USA BMX National Series stop, a USA BMX Pro Series stop and a UCI Hors Class (HC) competition, bringing added stakes to a weekend of high-speed racing. With just two Pro Series stops remaining, riders will battle for critical points and positioning as they push toward the season’s finish.

The Fall Nationals mark stop no.27 of the 2026 USA BMX National Series and stop eight of the 2026 USA BMX Pro Series. The three-day BMX competition will be held at Black Mountain BMX at 24024 North 11th St. in Phoenix. Races begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday, 9:30 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.

“Hosting a National event gives our local riders an opportunity to see just how big the BMX community really is,” said Bubba Harris, co-track operator of Black Mountain BMX. “They’ll get to race alongside professional athletes from across the country while their families and our local BMX community get to experience the energy that comes with a National weekend. We’re proud to welcome everyone to Phoenix and showcase what our track and our riders are all about.”

Pro racing at the Fall Nationals kicks off on Friday with a high-stakes UCI HC (Hors Class) event. The designation places the Fall Nationals among the higher-tier events on the international BMX racing calendar, awarding valuable UCI ranking points that help determine riders’ international standings and pave the way for the Olympic opportunity with their competitive results.

The USA BMX Pro Series continues on Saturday and Sunday as the proving ground for the sport’s top professional racers. A season-long test of skill and resilience, top BMX riders compete throughout the season for points towards the championship, it’s crunch time for gaining points in the 2026 ranking. Phoenix based Olympian Cameron Wood swooped into the podium hunt in Louisville, KY and will make every attempt on home soil to gain the top spot on the podium and position himself in the hunt for the pro championship finals this Thanksgiving weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Heading into the Fall Nationals, Kamren Larsen (710 pts), Molly Simpson (790 pts), and Tyler Smith (620 pts) pace the Men, Women, and Vet Pro divisions under the series scoring system. Drew Polk (620 pts) and Payton Ridenour (700 pts) remain in hot pursuit of the top spots for 2026. USA BMX has awarded nearly  $280,000 in total purse money this season with Molly Simpson leading the earnings with $15,765 in YTD earnings, fueled by a dominant 6 Answer BMX Holeshot bonuses.

“We look forward to welcoming USA BMX back to Phoenix for the Fall Nationals at Black Mountain BMX,” said Joel Koester, executive director of sports and events at Visit Phoenix. “With the Sonoran Desert as the backdrop, riders and attendees will get to experience a setting unlike anywhere else while discovering all that our destination has to offer.”

About USA BMX

Established as the American Bicycle Association in 1977 and headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, ABA is the nation’s largest cycling organization with more than 70,000 members with combined racing and freestyle events at more than 300 sanctioned BMX tracks across the United States and Canada. ABA empowers and elevates the early stages of bicycle development by creating opportunities through facility development, programs, and national events. As a result, ABA has developed a structured blueprint. A cyclist can progress from humble beginnings on a balance bike to becoming a BMX Olympian by establishing these roots.

Through STEAM, scholarships, freestyle amateur events, the national series, the Olympics and new facilities built across the United States, these four pillars under the USA BMX organization will impact young riders and families: USA BMX Foundation, USA BMX Freestyle, USA BMX Racing and ABA Ethos.
