I started racing last Oct., just did local races at my home track. Always fun, great people and a wonderful sport to be involved in. I have been a BMXer for years, mostly a street rider, occasional ramps/jumps. This past weekend, I experienced my first State series, it was Round 2 of the MA state championship series.

I am used to a reasonable amount of people, maybe 20 or so motos. Lots of fun and a good day always. This was my first 220+ riders and 51 motos. To see so many bikes, and supporters, the different teams, and the amount of pop up canopies. The racing was fun to watch, from the lil 5-6 novies right through to the 45+ experts. To see guys and gals pushing hard to make the mains or score high in their total points race. The level of competition was fast and intense.

Even for myself, I was pushed to limits on a bike I forgot I had. Finally on the better side of healing from an injury, and with the OK from my doctor, I was able to ride hard for the first time this season. I was in a total points race against 2 inters(I am a novice). The fact that these guys are the next level up from me did not bother me; I think of it as a challenge and pushed myself harder. And I did. In the end I did end up in 3rd but hey, what a great day of racing.

The competition was friendly and fast. Hanging out with friends, new and old.

And let's not forget to thank the volunteers who help run the show( Tina and crew) and the track operator (Rick) who does his best to give us all a place to come hang out and race on Sundays. THANK YOU!
