In my mind I'm a cruiser rider first. However, I'm building a 20". Last fall I wasn't planning to race 20". I returned to BMX last fall at Durango BMX. We liked it a lot. I was in a situation at work as a teacher where I had to move. I've settled in a small town on Vaughn, NM. It's working out much better for our BMX family. The 4-day work week, perks, isolated location, low stress living, and ideal location for travelling to BMX nationals in the region is working out well in our opinion to some degree. Then we're close enough to go to Duke City BMX. In September 2019 I weighed 270 pounds. At my first race in October 2019 I weighed 267. I've been around 226-232 lately hoping to lose more because I can see that it's a hindrance for sure. Currently I see that I can get fast gate start snaps which is my good point, but fitness needs continual work. At the Sooner Nats I got passed in the last straight and last turn simply due to needing to lose more weight and get my fitness level up.

I've had an old 20" white frame of Nic Long's with USA Olympic logos that he almost used at the 2012 Olympic games. I've liked the long frame with very long chainstays. Once I finish that I plan on racing that in class probably only at big races because I don't think it's advantageous to race cruiser and 20" at races with 15-25 motos.

I lived in Mongolia for over 8 years as a permanent resident and taught Mongolian college students, and mostly secondary students and also adults mostly with language. I moved back to the US in November 2016. I attended the 2014 X-Games of Mongolia.

I ended up racing 20" at nationals because cruiser at the national level has been so tough racing current experts.

I am used to using Time ATAC pedals. They've been working for me, but they are older models and not the newer models which many MTBers complained about. I'm also a fan of Sidi MTB shoes which I've used since about 1998. My current low top Sidis were purchased about 9-10 years ago used. Getting new shoes is coming soon.
