In January 2022, I discovered the sport of BMX. After retiring from the military in late 2018, I struggled in finding a new purpose and adventure. Simply, I was down and I needed something that would ignite a fire in me and make me smile again. Well, I believe I might have found it within the sport of BMX.

My local track is where I signed up is Sandy Ridge BMX located in McDonough, Georgia. They did a good job explaining and guiding me through my first roll around the track. They made me feel at home and I'm forever grateful. It was just refreshing to see families enjoying themselves in leisure as kids, moms and dads zipped around on bikes woreout from their most recent lap around the track.  The camaraderie and sportsmanship was beautiful to see as well.

Right now, my goal is to have fun and travel around and see new places and faces, and if I'm lucky enough to pick up a couple of trophies along the way it will be a nice added bonus. I'm smiling again. Thank you USA BMX.

Sincerely,
