USA BMX Texas Nationals Bring National-Level Racing to Pflugerville
Capitol City BMX will welcome the country’s top BMX racers Oct. 30-Nov. 1 as Stop No. 29 of the 2026 USA BMX National Series, bringing high-stakes racing and championship points to Pflugerville.
TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 27, 2026)—Pflugerville is set for a weekend of high-speed BMX action. Oct. 30-Nov. 1, the city will welcome BMX racers from across the country as Capitol City BMX hosts the 2026 USA BMX Texas Nationals. The competition will bring national-level riders to Pflugerville, pushing for every advantage as they sprint out of the gate and move toward the finish with championship points at stake. For fans, it is a chance to see the sport at full speed and up close – where races unfold in seconds, the outcome can change in an instant and the crowd is part of the energy.
The Texas Nationals mark stop no.29 of the 2026 USA BMX National Series. The three-day BMX competition will be held at Capitol City BMX at 5001 Killingsworth Ln in Pflugerville. Races begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, 9:30 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.
“Everyone here at Capitol City BMX is excited to welcome the BMX community to Austin, Texas, for the Texas Nationals,” said James Hurst, track operator of Capitol City BMX. “Our volunteers and track community have been working hard to prepare the facility and make sure we’re ready to provide a great experience for the riders, families, teams and spectators traveling in from across the country. There’s a lot of pride within our community in hosting an event of this level, and everyone is coming together to help make it a memorable weekend.”
“We’re especially looking forward to the atmosphere that comes with a USA BMX National weekend – the competition, the families and the BMX community all coming together,” added Rita Guihan, president and board member of Capitol City BMX. “Being the final National stop of the year before everyone heads to Tulsa for the USA BMX Grand Nationals makes the weekend even more exciting. We’re looking forward to some great racing, great Texas hospitality, and sending everyone into Grands with a fun and memorable weekend here at Capitol City BMX.”
The road to a USA BMX National Championship is built one race weekend at a time. At the Texas Nationals, riders from across the country will line up chasing valuable championship points and a place among the nation’s top-ranked athletes. With every gate drop, the pressure builds, a hard-fought pass or a finish at the front of the pack can make a difference as riders work toward the ultimate prize: a national title.
"The Austin Sports Commission is thrilled to bring the USA BMX Texas Nationals back to Northeast Metropolitan Park,” said Nathan Kopp, executive director of Austin Sports Commission. “Thanks to Travis County Parks’ continued investment in top-tier facilities like the fully rebuilt Capitol City BMX track, our region remains a premier destination for world-class action sports. This multi-year partnership not only showcases high-level competition but also continues to deliver significant economic impact for local businesses and hospitality partners across the Austin community.”
While visiting Pflugerville, fans can explore the area’s mix of Texas history, outdoor recreation and Austin-area attractions, including Lake Pflugerville, the historic downtown district and nearby Austin, home to live music, iconic food spots and the Texas State Capitol. About USA BMX
Established as the American Bicycle Association in 1977 and headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, ABA is the nation’s largest cycling organization with more than 70,000 members with combined racing and freestyle events at more than 300 sanctioned BMX tracks across the United States and Canada. ABA empowers and elevates the early stages of bicycle development by creating opportunities through facility development, programs, and national events. As a result, ABA has developed a structured blueprint. A cyclist can progress from humble beginnings on a balance bike to becoming a BMX Olympian by establishing these roots.
Through STEAM, scholarships, freestyle amateur events, the national series, the Olympics and new facilities built across the United States, these four pillars under the USA BMX organization will impact young riders and families: USA BMX Foundation, USA BMX Freestyle, USA BMX Racing and ABA Ethos.
