We are happy to announce that the club will begin hosting our Coaching Clinics starting this Tuesday July 28th, and Gate Practices this Wednesday July 29th, provided all participants and track visitors follow Provincial and Local COVID-19 Guidelines.  Registrations and payments will only be accepted on-line via the links below and will close at 4:00PM on the day of the event.  There will be no registrations on site.

Cornwall BMX Club Coaching Clinics

Programs: L2RIDE and L2RACE

Learn to Ride (L2RIDE) – This program is designed specifically for first year Novice riders including brand new riders. Limited spaces available.

Tuesdays from 6:00PM to 7:45PM until August 25. 

$20 per session.

Participants must be able to pedal a bike and will require the following equipment:

  • Bike (any kind, but BMX is preferred) with no pegs, no kickstands, and any reflectors that stick out of the bike must be removed.
  • Full Face Helmet
  • Long pants, Long sleeved shirt and gloves.

The Learn to Ride program will focus on:

Sitting/Standing, braking, cornering, wheel lifts, gate starts and basic BMX skills on the track.

  • BMX Racing fundamentals, and will introduce BMX specific skills and tactics.

Cornwall BMX Club Gate Practices

For riders of all ages and skill levels, including brand new riders.

An opportunity to practice and train on our starting gate and enjoy some music while riding the track in a fun and non-competitive environment.  A great opportunity to pick-up and work on some BMX racing skills and get used to riding the track. Limited spaces available.

Wednesdays from 6:00PM to 8:00PM until August 26

$5 per session – FREE ONE DAY TRIAL MEMBERSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE

Participants must be able to pedal a bike and will require the following equipment:

PRACTICE DAY AND CLINIC DAY:

  • We are restricted to 100 people on-site. To reduce the number of people on the grounds, we ask each participant to only bring one non-racing family member with them.
  • Physical distancing is required while on the track grounds.
  • Riders must have all gear and helmets on when entering the track area.
  • We ask that guardians of any young participant requiring assistance through staging and at the gate, wear masks while doing so.
  • There will be No Loaner Helmets - please make sure you come prepared to practice and ride safely.
  • At this time there will be NO Concessions so remember to bring your own snacks and water.
  • We need volunteers to assist with Gates, and corners. Please see us at the track if you’re able to help out.
  • Spectators are encouraged to wear masks.
  • THERE ARE NO WAHSROOMS AT THE TRACK

COVID-19 GUIDELINES:

PLEASE STAY AT HOME IF:

  • You are sick or suspect you may have COVID-19;
  • You have:
  • A fever;
  • A new cough;
  • A worsening cough;
  • Shortness of breath;
  • A hard time breathing;
  • A sore throat;
  • Difficulty swallowing;
  • A decreased or loss of sense of taste or smell;
  • Chills;
  • Headaches;
  • Unexplained fatigue/malaise/muscle aches;
  • Nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain;
  • Pink eye;
  • A runny nose or nasal congestion without other known causes;
  • You’ve traveled outside of Canada in the last 14 days;
  • You have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 without wearing PPE.
